Ezekiel married Rachel P. Casey 18 Nov 1859 in DeKalb County, Alabama. No known children were born to this couple.

1840 DeKalb Co., AL, pg 163: living in father Thomas A.'s household, age 5-10.

1850 DeKalb Co., AL, pg 330: living in father Thomas A.'s household, age 19.

1860 Anderson Co., TX, pg 52, Beat 6: E. Patrick, age 24, born AL enumerated with Joseph & Saloma Rainey family as a farm laborer. (Age & state born do not match but it is most probably Ezekiel).

1870 Etowah Co., AL, pg 328: R.P. Patrick, 42 F, SC; W.P. Casey, 65; S.F. Casey, 66 F, SC. (She is living with her mother and father.)

1880 Blount Co., AL, Twp 11, Beat 8, pg 376A: R.P. Patrick, 53, SC; B.F. Casey, 51, SC, Brother; S.P. Casey, 76, SC, Mother; S.J. Casey, 35, AL, Sister; Lula Casey, 16, AL, Niece.

Ezekiel enlisted in Captain Michael D. Kennedy's Company, 15th Regiment, Texas Cavalry on March 8, 1862 in Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., TX for a period of 12 months. This regiment became Company E. He was mustered-in March 10, 1862 at McKinney, TX. He appears on the muster rolls for the periods March 8, 1862 - June 30, 1862 and Sept - Oct 1862. He was captured at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post, Arkansas on January 11, 1863. He was sent to Camp Douglas, Chicago, IL where he died March 11, 1863 of pneumonia.

His widow Rachel file for a Confederate pension:

R.P. Patrick , April 7, 1894, applied for Confederate pension in Blount County, Alabama. Stated her husband served as a private in Company E of the 12th Regiment of the Texas Cavalry and that "he came to his death from wounds received or disease contracted in the service of the Confederate States...".
