Bonnie Darlene Marie Smith was born Feb. 4, 1923 to Omar E. Smith and Lula Blanche Bailey Smith. She was born in Topeka, Kansas where she lived until she was 12, then they moved to the Marysville area. At the age of 16 she married Lawrence (Pete) George Cook on Jan. 29, 1940. They had 3 children Luella Rose (Nov. 5, 1940), Phillip Owen (Feb. 5, 1942), and Joyce Kay (June 26, 1943).
Pete passed away July 9, 1976. She later married Virgil Duke Riehart on May 2, 1987 in Tonasket where she lived until his death in 1999; then she moved to the Wenatchee area. She is survived by a daughter, Luella Cook of Mansfield; a son, Phillip Cook of Mansfield; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister Janie Davis; and one brother Edgar Smith of California.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a daughter, and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Betts Funeral Home on Friday, March 28, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
