Arthur E. Folger, 88, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Arthur was born May 10, 1921, in Sistersville, West Virginia and was raised in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Illinois and moved to Indiana in 1950. Arthur retired from Layne Northern Company as a Foreman and Commercial Water Well Driller in 1982 after 30 years of service. On January 8, 1942, Arthur married Hesper Walker who survives. Surviving with his wife of 67 years is a daughter, Deborah (David) Gondocs of New Carlisle, Indiana; a son, Bob L. (Jeannine) Folger of Magnolia, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Zelma Folger of Syracuse, Indiana. A son, Charles Folger preceded him in death in 2002. Also surviving are grandchildren, Donna (Mitch) Moseng, Tonna (Dan) Gilson, Bryan (Kim) Folger, Shanna Gaumm, Kristina (Marc) Shultz, Chad Folger, Ryan (Valorie) Folger, Zachery Folger, Teresa (Bobby) Warren, Abbie (Richard) Warren, Stephanie (Anthony) Palmarie, Robert Burelison, Corrinne Burelison; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jeremy, Andy, Rachael, Kyle, Christopher, Brandon, Amanda, Mia, Madison, Sadie, Auburey, Micah, Kaden, Caleb, Tristan; one great great-grandson, Kaiden Loghan Moseng; and a brother, Bobby Gene (Ann) Folger of Denver. Sisters, Virginia Bush, Betty Davis, Louise Peeples and a brother, Lawrence Folger all preceded him in death. Arthur was a Sergeant in the Army during WWII, and a member of the Community of Christ Church in South Bend. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St. New Carlisle, Indiana. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home with burial to follow in the New Carlisle Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community of Christ, 55276 Falling Water Court, Elkhart, Indiana 46514.
