He was captured and died at the Union Prison Camp at Rock Island, Illinois. Although there seems to be a propensity to connect the FAG memorial dedicated to Pvt Robert N. Jones to Mary Elizabeth (Poole) Jones, I cannot find a connection. The memorial dedicated to Robert N. Jones was, at one time, attached to this memorial as her 3rd husband, but she was only married twice.
