Nannie Eva Via Morrison, 87, of Roanoke, VA, departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 2009. She was born in Floyd, Virginia on July 17, 1921, to the late Rufus &Ginny Via. She is survived by four daughters, Gradytene M. Linthicum (Jim), Eva Urzelia Witcher (Clarence), both of Roanoke, Nancy Louise Tisdale and Vanessa Dale Hairston (John), both of Bassett; four grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; a special aunt, Dora Bowman, of Martinsville; a special uncle, Warren Wimbush, of Stuart; and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call for viewing on Tuesday afternoon, June 9, 2009 until 4 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home and viewing will resume at 5 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at God's House Baptist Ministry. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Bassett, Virginia with the Rev. William Randolph, officiating and Dr. Floyd Davis, eulogist. The visitation will begin at 11 a.m. The interment will be in Carver Memorial Gardens.
