Robert N. Eoff, 91, of Elmore, Ohio, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was born in Elmore on July 13, 1917, a son of Jacob and Ruth (Cook) Eoff. A lifetime resident of Elmore, Bob was a graduate of the former Elmore High School, and was also a graduate of the Pittsburgh Art Institute. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post #279, Elmore. He was a graphic artist for the Ohio Department of Transportation, retiring in 1982. A well-known area artist, Bob designed the cover of the Elmore 100th Anniversary book and the T-shirt design for Elmore's Portage River Festival. He also designed covers for bulletins at St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church. Bob was also a talented pastry chef, supplying baked goods for area events for the American Legion. He was particularly well known for his turnovers and doughnuts, which he made by the thousands. Bob was an auxiliary patrolman for the Ohio State Patrol and was a member and past master of the former Portage Lodge# 351, F. & A. M., Elmore. He was also a 32nd degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo. Bob is survived by his nieces, Susan Elsea, Jeannette Latez, Jeanenne (Randy) Brown, Sandra (Rob) Chimney, Terry Eoff, and nephew, Steven (Donna) Eoff. Also surviving are 12 great nieces and nephews, many great great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great great nephew. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glenn (Lois) Eoff and Alton (Anita) Eoff; nephew, James Eoff, and nephew in-law, Glenn Latez. Family and friends are invited to call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday. Rev. Rick Stuhmer will officiate, and interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery where American Legion Post #279 will conduct military graveside rites.
