ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF TOMMIE L. DANIEL

People throughout the county were shocked and grieved to learn of the accidental and untimely death of Tommie Lee Daniel of Fairplay, on Saturday, May 22.
Mr. Daniel had his family in the car with him but had put them out, while he proceeded on an errand. The Car he was driving got out of control, the brakes not working well, and crashed into a tree, almost killing Mr. Daniel. He was rushed to McGeary Hospital where artificial respiration was used, but it was too late.
Mr. Daniel was engaged in farming with Howard Tamplin, he and his family living on what is known as the old Trammell farm.
Pallbearers were William Daniel, Calvin Daniel, Boe Daniel, Harris Daniel, Mell Richardson and Howard Durand.
Tommie Lee Daniel was born in Morgan County, the son of George Daniel and Luna Hawk Daniel. On December 28, 1931 he was married in Walton County to Miss Modell Scarborough. He was forty-three years of age at the time of his death, and was a member of the Methodist Church of Apalachee. He is survived by his wife and three children, Marion, Carolyn, and Wayne Daniel and by four brothers, Calvin Daniel, Monroe; William Daniel, Social Circle; Boe Daniel, Rutledge; Mrs. Edna Richardson, Athens; Mrs. Betty Durand, Madison, and Miss Agnes Daniel, who is employed at Mack's Department Store in Madison.
