Nollie Burt Jones

Nollie Burt Jones, 78, of Oglethorpe, died Tuesday at his residence following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Thursday at Cedar Valley Baptist Church in Montezuma with the Rev. T. J. Waldrop officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Retired from Southern Frozen Food-McKenzies Inc. in Montezuma, Mr. Jones was born in Vienna on March 18, 1909. He was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include six sons, J. W. Jones of McClenney, Fla., Leroy Jones of Fort Valley, Curtis Jones, Norman Jones, Bobby Jones and Jimmy Jones, all of Brunswick; five daughters, Mrs. Vernon Davis of Oglethorpe, Mrs. Eddie Rogers of Andersonville, Mrs. Paulette Cruse and Mrs. Janie Ramsey, both of Brunswick, and Mrs. Debra Raper of Montezuma; two sisters. Mrs. Mary E. Murphy of Norman Park, and Mrs. Lessie Ree Castleberry of Ellenton; 46 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Watson-Massey Funeral Home in Oglethorpe had charge of arrangements.

OGLETHORPE, Ga.-- Nollie B. Jones, 78, of Oglethorpe, died Oct. 6, 1987 in Montezuma. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Cedar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Montezuma with the Rev. T. J. Waldrop officiating.

Mr. Jones was a retired employee of Southern Frozen Foods Inc. and had lived for most of his life in Macon County.

He is survived by six sons, John William Jones of McClenney, Fla., Leroy Jones of Fort Valley, Curtis Jones, Norman Jones, Bobby Jones and Jimmy Jones, all of Brunswick; five daughters, Mrs. Vernon Davis of Oglethorpe, Mrs. Eddie Rogers of Andersonville, Mrs. Paulette Cruse and Mrs. Janie Ramsey, both of Brunswick, and Debra Raper of Montezuma; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
