DIANA - Services for Lucille Phoenix, 80, of Diana, will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Diana, with the Revs. Gary May and David Tomme officiating. Interment will be in Reed Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Mrs. Phoenix passed away June 4, 2009, in Longview.
Lucille was born October 22, 1928, in Jayton, Texas, to Robert L. and Millie D. Yates. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Diana and co-owner of Phoenix and Sons Builders, Inc. She was a graduate of Longview ISD and BMI in Longview. Lucille was a loving mother and homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leonard Phoenix; son and daughter-in-law: Clifford and Terry Phoenix of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette and David Tomme of Colorado Springs, Co., Belinda and Kent Johnson of Norman, Ok.; daughter-in-law, Sue Phoenix of Longview; sisters and brother-in-law, Ola Mae Maxwell of Diana and Rita and Jerry Jones of Vivian, La; grandchildren, Dustin Tomme, Jonathan Phoenix, Andrew Phoenix, Cameron Johnson, Collin Johnson, Jennifer Massey, Deedra Ivie, Lauren Phoenix, Brittany Phoenix, Rachel Harless; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Phoenix and grandson, Ryan Phoenix.
