Charles Morris Fisher was born in Dallas, Texas on April 7, 1928. As infants, he and his twin sister were adopted by Emmett and Kate Fisher. The family soon moved to Southern California.

Morris, as he was known to everyone, attended the Methodist Church in Downey, where he met his wife, Thelma.
After service in the United States Navy, he returned to Texas to attend McMurray College in Abilene, but came back to Downey after only one year to marry Thelma. Morris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whittier College, and went on to receive a Master's degree in Theology from the School of Religion at the University of Southern California.

Morris' first appointment was to Holliston United Methodist Church in Pasadena, as Minister of Youth. At the end of a full career in the church, his last appointment was as Senior Pastor to Holliston.

When the Fishers were serving in Arizona, they adopted their children, Suzann and David, part of his living family who will miss him.

During his work as Director of the Department of Finance and Field Service of the California-Pacific Annual Conference, he enjoyed working with many ministers and church members, making lasting friendships. While serving in Pasadena and after retiring, Morris was active in community affairs and in city politics. He served on the Board of Directors for the City of Pasadena, and was recognized as one who always stood up for the underdog. In Pasadena, he was a member of the Tournament of Roses Association, the University Club, and the Crown City Kiwanis Club. The memorial service celebrating his life was held at Holliston United Methodist Church.

Morris leaves behind many friends and colleagues, as well as several young men and women who think of him as a surrogate dad. His surviving family members include his wife of 55 years, Thelma; his daughter, Suzann Pruitt; his son, David Fisher; his sister, Merele Adams; and seven grandchildren.
