In Loving Memory of Archie Brown
"Budded on earth, bloomed in heaven."

Again we are reminded that in the midst of life we are in death. On the afternoon of March 10 the silent reaper stole into the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Brown and claimed for its victim Archie Brown aged 11 years. He was the eldest of five children and a very bright little boy, he had been sick only eleven days his death being caused by blood poisoning from an affected limb. He was operated on and only lived one hour after the operation. All that loving parents and kind neighbors could do was done but he only grew worse, until death relieved his suffering of untold agony, but his sufferings are over now and he has gone to live with him who said "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven." His short sweet life like a shadow has passed and he has fallen asleep, but Oh! how sweet is the thought that death is only a dream. Where Archie is there is room for father and mother in that home above where no pain or death or sorrow ever comes. May God comfort the bereaved parents and cause them to look beyond the sorrows of this life to the joys that awaits them at God's right hand.

This lovely bud so young and fair
Call hence by early doom.
Just came to show how sweet a flower,
in Paradise would bloom.
E'r sin could harm or sorrow fade,
Death came with friendly care.
The opening bud to heaven conveyed
And bade it blossom there.
Archie's sweet brown eyes are closed in death.
His loving voice is still,
A place is vacant in mother's heart,
Which Jesus alone can fill.
His precious form she longs to see,
His loving voice to hear,
She cannot call him back to her,
But she can meet him there.
--A Friend and Neighbor.
