Harry Garfield Armstrong, son of William O. Armstrong and Mary Jane Page Armstrong, was born in Brown County, Kansas, Sept. 18, 1888, and passed away in the Kearny County hospital, Lakin, Kansas, Feb. 7, 1958. He was 69 years, 4 months, and 20 days old.

In April of 1909 Mr. Armstrong came with his parents to Kearny County and lived on one of the last homesteads of the county about 17 miles northwest of Lakin. Later he moved to Lakin and worked at the trades of plumbing and carpentry until his death. He also carried the mail on the North Star mail route for eight years.

He was preceded death by his parents, a sister, Emma, and three brothers, Albert, Robert, and Ernest.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Bruner of Kendall, Kansas, and Carrie Armstrong of the home. Three nephews, Frank Bruner and wife Shirley, and their three daughters, Frankie, Sally, and Charlotte of Dover, New Jersey; Robert Bruner and wife Tillie, and small son, Bobby of Kendall, Kansas; Leroy Armstrong of Hiawatha, Kansas. Two nieces, Mrs. Preston Osborn and Mr. Osborn of Lakin, Kansas; Mrs. Elmer Thomeczek, Mr. Thomeczek and their children, Margaret, Charlotte, Eugene, Judy, Ricky, and Allison of Kendall, Kansas., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong, Hiawatha, Kansas. He also leaves many friends to mourn his passing.
