January 5, 1928 - Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Clara Albertina Jacobsen was born in Sweden May 12, 1845 and passed away Friday Dec 30, 1927 at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 18 days after an illness of three days following a stroke of paralyses Wednesday morning.
She was united in marriage in 1875 to P.J. Anderson who died two years later. The one son, John Henry, born to this union passed away in 1907.
She was wedded again in 1875 to Peter A Anderson who preceded her in death 22 years ago. Eight children were born to them four of whom died during infancy.
In 1880 the family then consisting of father, mother, and three children came to America and settled at Storm Lake, where the built a home and resided for 25 years.
They them moved to White, S.D. where they lived for 3 years, returning to Storm lake in 1904. She left Storm Lake in 1911 and has since made her home with her children having spent the past 9 years at the home of her daughter, Mrs A.L. Groom at Arnolds Park.
She is survived by one son, G.P. Anderson of Isabel, S.D.; three daughters: Mrs C.O. Waldron of Rembrandt; Mrs H.T. Jordan of Webb; and Mrs A.L. Groom, of Arnolds Park; 14 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She also leaves two brothers: P.L. Jacobson of Chicago, IL and Gustaf Jacobson of Mariedan, Sweden; and one sister, Mrs. Wilhelmina Johnson of Muskegon, MI.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 11 o'clock at the A.L. Groom home at Arnolds Park. Interment was made in the Storm Lake cemetery by the side of her husband.
