The mass of resurrection will be celebrated this morning, at 9 a.m., also at Our Lady of Sorrows, with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant.
Interment will follow at the Canoncito Cemetery in Canoncito, NM.
Abenicia A. Lujan, 92 years old, passed away on Thursday, May 28. She was born in Canoncito, N.M., on Aug. 8, 1916, to the late Frank and Fedelina Trujillo. Abenicia was a longtime resident of Las Vegas.
She is also preceded in death by her husband Meliton Lujan, Sr., brother Frank Trujillo, infant children William Lujan and Mary Lujan and an infant grandchild, Joseph Lujan.
She is survived by six wonderful children and their spouses, 22 grand-children, 36 great grand-children and two great, great grand-children, two brothers and one sister and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Gerard Lujan, John-Paul Aragon, Leroy Lujan, Gene Lujan, Jr., Dennis Lujan Jr. and Gregory Baker. Honorary bearers are Joseph Lujan and Pamela C. Mora.
A gathering will be held at The Mexican Kitchen "Johnny's" at 717 Grand Avenue, here in Las Vegas, following the funeral services on Wednesday, June 3rd.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home, 801 Douglas Avenue, Las Vegas, NM (505) 425-6551.
