Mrs. Marion I. Newhard

Mrs. Marion I. Newhard, 60, of 605 E. 20th St., Northampton, died Thursday in Allentown Hospital. Her husband. Robert R. "Peachy" Newhard, died in 1982.

She was a secretary at Tama Manufacturing, Northampton, for the past 25 years. She previously was a secretary for the Northampton Borough Municipal Water Co. for 10 years. Mrs. Newhard was a Democratic committeewoman in Northampton's 3rd ward and secretary of the former Northampton Community Chest for many years.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Gladys (Frable) Miller.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Northampton, where she was past president of the Women's Guild, a member of its consistory and a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are a son, David R., and a brother, Harold J., both of Northampton, and three granddaughters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church. A calling hour will precede services in the church. The Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, is in charge of arrangements.
