Virgil Eugene (Skip) Cravens, 27, of Wenden, died May 24 after an accidental drowning at Alamo Lake. He was born Nov. 18, 1957 in Leavenworth, Kan. and lived in Arizona for seven years.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 20, 1975 and was discharged on Jan. 29, 1979.

Survivors include his parents, Virgil and Clara Cravens, of Wenden; three sisters, Thelma Weisenburg and Sharon Cravens, both of Wenden and Karen Hess, of Wickenburg; one brother, Monroe Cravens, of Wenden; his grandmother, Thelma Killian, of Texas; five nephews, two nieces and several aunts and uncles.

Services were May30 at 10 a.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home with Pastor Vandever officiating. Visitation was May 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
