Jacob was born in Buchanan Co., Missouri in 1840 and died 12 Sept 1911 at the home of his daughter, Luella, at Coyle, Logan County, Oklahoma.

His first wife was Martha Jane Peck, married Nodaway County, Missouri on 12 Jan 1860. She was born in Kentucky 2 Feb 1842 and died near Quitman, Nodaway County, Missouri on 26 March 1862.

His second wife was Josephine Huff, born 24 Oct 1846 in Nodaway County, Missouri, and died 5 Jan 1880 in Cedar Township, Dade County, Missouri.

His third wife was Nancy Martin. They were married 18 Sept 1881 in Dade County, Missouri. Nancy's maiden name was Baker. She married John C. Martin in Dade County on 26 Feb 1876. She was listed a few households after Jacob in 1880 census as widow with daughter, Dora V. Martin, age 3. The 1900 Dade County census has her living with her mother Sintha (Cynthia?) Baker. According to that census, Nancy was born Aug 1853, age 46, widowed, mother of two children with two still living. She was born in Missouri, her father born in Tennessee and her mother born in Kentucky.
