I believe this is the son of John Thomas Rice and Sharlotte Boules, born in Ontario 1864 and lived in Wisconsin from 1868-1887. The family (except son Jack) moved by wagon train to Washington state. They'd been there a couple of years when fever came and took John Thomas Rice and 5 of 8 children:
William - died Aug 28, age 4
Charlotte - died Oct 4, age 10
Harriet Evaline - died Oct 8, age 12
Sarah Riffle - married just 6 months, died Sept 29, age 22
Asa - came in from the fields to help care for the family, age 25, died Oct 24
father John Thomas - died Nov 11, age 47
Mother Charlotte, daughter Margaret, and son Isaac survived, along with son Jack (who stayed in Wisconsin).
