RIDGEVILLE, Ind.--Arvin L. Smith, 59, R.R. 2, was dead on arrival at Randolph County Hospital Friday after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home. He had been in serious health the past few years.
He and his wife, Rozella Gamester Smith, had made their home in the Ridgeville area for the past 40 years. Mr. Smith farmed for many years before he retired because of ill health.
He was a member of American Legion Post 507 and a veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Max (Janet) Morgan, Tecumseh, Mich.; one son, Jerry Smith, New Palestine, Ind.; four grandchildren; one brother, Lester Smith, Ridgeville; and one sister, Mrs. Lavaughn Wine, Muncie.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Middleton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Kim Mills will officiate. Burial will follow in Lawndale Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
