Died at his home in Lithgow, February 1905. Born in Canaan, Columbia County, NY, Aug 26, 1820. His father's name was Martin, and his mother was a Halsted. He married Hannah, daughter of Isaac & Polly Sutherland in 1844. He resided on the farm of his mother-in-law in Stanford. In 1857 & 1858 he was elected Supervisor of Stanford. Three children were born in Stanford, Julia, Amelia & Henry. Julia married Philip J. Sherman. Amelia married Rev Uriah Symonds. She died in 1882,
leaving one child, Henry, now living in New York City. Hannah, wife of Edgar, died in 1853, and her mother raised the children. In 1870, Edgar remarried to Kate H. Sackett Lockwood, the accomplished widow of John Lockwood, and they
went to live in Lithgow. The deceased leaves his widow, two children, Mrs. P.J. Sherman, now of Millbrook, and son Henry of New York City. Two granddaus, Mrs. Mary L Sutton, and Miss Amelia V. Symonds, who has been brought up in his father
as her mother died young; one great granddaughter, Muriel Sutton; three sisters, Mrs. Maria Havens, Red Rock; Mrs. Susan Wilcox, Chatham; Mrs. Lucinda Leavenworth, Canaan. One grandson, named for him, Edgar V Sheraman predeceased him.
