His death was announced in the military's Roll of Honor in The State-Times, 24 May 1945, and The Advocate, 25 May 1945, both in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Beloved son of Virginia E. Moore Randall Ziegler and the late Jacob Cowper Randall Sr. Stepson of Harold Ferdinand Ziegler.
Brother of May Virginia Randall. Half brother of Leah Elizabeth Ziegler, Harold Ferdinand Ziegler Jr., and Adele Florine Ziegler.
Grandson of May Martin and John Robert Moore; and Eva L. Cowper and Sebastian Randall. Step-grandson of Elizabeth LeBourgeois Mather and Charles William Ziegler.
He was born in Mississippi and lived in New Orleans, Louisiana, for about 10 years before joining the Navy.
