Richard Hemsley III Son of Sarah Potter & Richard Hemsley II (1801-1866).

Richard III was the 1st of his family to travel to Utah as a handcart Pioneer 1857. His brother Edward and sister Ellen came to Utah in 1862. His brother Job and Father, Richard Hemsley II came to Utah in 1862, within days after arriving in the Salt Lake Valley his father died. His mother, Sarah Potter Hemsley, and sister Eliza Hemsley died in England. His father married Sarah Stevens Eager before traveling to Utah and she died along the trail.

He raised his family in Salt Lake Valley and moved his family to Plano Idaho area about 1880.
