CALDWELL, Mr. C. M. "Curly", age 82, of South Hill, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in a Petersburg hospital. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the U. S. Army and a veteran of World War ll, Korea and Vietnam. He was also a retired manager of the Virginia Employment Commission, South Hill office. He is survived by his wife, Millicent Connell Caldwell; three daughters, Doris Boever of Tampa, Fla., Peggy Vogler of Corpus Christi, Texas and Carla Feller of Allen Park, Mich.; a son, Keith Caldwell of Palm Bay, Fla.; two sisters, Myrtle Harris of Pomaria, S.C. and Malda McLean of Ellenboro, N.C.; a brother, Henry Caldwell of Troupe, Texas; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Margaret Beard and Susan Walker, both of Brodnax; three stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by visitation. Interment will take place Friday at 12 noon at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery near Kent's Store, Va., with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian School, 410 N.
