Marie Lucy (Tomasiello) Thornhill, age 80, of Groton, CT and formerly of Fairfield, CT, the beloved wife of the late Thomas Joseph Melhouse Sr. entered into eternal rest in Lawrence Memorial Hospital New London, CT, with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Bessie (Liacona) Tomasiello. Marie was a Fairfield resident for 25 years and moved to Groton two months prior to her death to be close to her son Thomas. She was a retired employee of the Skydel's Store in Bridgeport and was a voluntary at the polls for the Democratic Party for the City of Bridgeport for many years. Survivors include her beloved children, Thomas Joseph Melhouse Jr. of Groton, and Mary Razzino and husband, Peter of Bridgeport; her loving granddaughters, Ramona Riviere and husband Michael of Humble, TX and Alexandra Razzino of Bridgeport; three brothers, Louis Tomasiello of Delray Beach, FL, Joseph Tomaselli and wife, Kaye of Boca Raton, FL and Salvatore Tomasiello and wife, Judy of Stratford; her goddaughter, Stephanie Brooks of Stratford; and her lifelong friend, Helen Andrea of Ansonia; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Louis Anthony Mehlhouse, one brother, Carmen Tomasiello and one sister, Ann Merritt. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Andrew's Church, Bridgeport.
