Alta Holley, 99, formerly of Odessa, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2005, in Marble Falls.

Alta was born Sept. 17, 1905, to Louis Eubank and Ora Black Eubank in Teague, Freestone, County.

She married W.J. "Pete" Holley in Ira Nov. 22, 1922. After spending many years working in the West Texas oilfields, they moved to Odessa for the third time Dec. 8, 1941.

Her family was the greatest interest of her life. She was a seamstress for many years and she was very creative with her sewing, until the end of her life. She made special pillows, pillowcases and decorative towels for the kitchen and bathroom for all of her family and friends. She was a Christian and a member of the Church of God.

Alta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete Holley; two sisters; two brothers; one son, Leon M. Holley; and a son-in-law, J.B. Eller.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris Eller of Marble Falls; son, Joe Holley and wife, Johnnie, of Odessa, and Weldon Holley and wife, Francis of Italy, Texas; brother, Wayne Eubanks of Synder; and sister, Coy Dee Mabine of Synder. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today, May 14, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Roy Smalling officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Edgar Funeral Home in Marble Falls.
