The survey also adds: Infant daughter of W.P. & S.A.Tate
[LSP]: "2 infants of Dr Wm Tate" died BEFORE Mar 1878. The 26 Mar 1878 issue of the Staunton Spectator, includes an article about Bethel Church-Yard. It includes over 500 people, listed within up to Mar 1878, including "2 infants of Dr Wm Tate." No dates are given. It is available online thru the site chroniclingamerica.loc.gov. through the Library of Virginia, Richmond,Va
[rdickson]: In 1867 this child's mother (Sarah Anne Tate) wrote a letter to her second daughter: "...in December 1857, at Riverhead, a little baby sister was born, who alas, never saw the light, but was carried to Bethel church-yard the day after her birth..."
This letter, to my GtGrandmother, passed on to my Grandmother then to my Aunt. From this I got the birth/death PLACE and assumed the birth date the same as death date (above) since she "never saw the light"
