Adella Belle Blue of Shawnee died Monday at a local nursing home. She was 86.


She was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Gracemont, Okla., to Harry Burns Miller and Edna Ethel McVay.

She was married to Ernest Caleb Blue on Dec. 23, 1935, in Anadarko.

The couple farmed in Gracemont for 20 years before moving to Oklahoma City. They moved to Shawnee in 1963.

While she was retired from Montgomery Wards, she spent most of her life as a homemaker.

Mrs. Blue was a member of Central Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and one brother, Harry Brown Miller.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, son and daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; as well as one sister.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home with Dwayne Dennis and Mike Shelburne officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park
