Isaac Short married to Mary Ellen Keene, daughter of Jimmy keene. He was Shot four times over a school trustee election between himself and Jesse Johnson (Brother in laws) across from the residence of Roger Callahan. Others involved were another one of Isaac's Brother in law's Alfred Keene (killed), Anderson Spicer, Johnnie Anderson, Bradley Short son of Isaac Short.
Isaac and Anderson Spicer were both taken down the Middle Fork of the Ky River to Jackson where a special train consisting of a caboose and engine to take them both to Good Samartian Hospital in Lexinton, Ky
