Mrs. Helen Lincklaen Fairchild, widow of Charles S. Fairchild, secretary of the
treasury under President Cleveland, Is dead at her home, Lorenzo, in Ledyard
avenue, Cazenovia. Mrs. Fairchild observed her 85th birthday last September.
Despite her age, she had enjoyed good health until a few weeks ago. She was a
native of Cazenovia and a daughter of the late Ledyard and Helen Claressa
Seymour Lincklaen. She had passed the greater part of her life in the home at
Cazenovia save for several years spent in Washington and New York city. She was
born in tiie family home, Lorenzo. Her early education was received in Cazenovia
schools. She later attended school In New York. She married Charles Stebbins
Fairchild, also a native of Cazenovia, on ! June 1, 1871. Mr. Fairchild died at
| the home in Cazenovia November 24 1924. Since Mr. Fairchild's death, Mrs.
Fairchild had remained at Lorenzo. She had been active for many years in the
affairs of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and in Owahgena Chapter Daughters of
the American Revolution. Funeral services will be conducted this Friday
afternoon In St. Peter's Church. Mrs. Fairchild will be buried beside her
husband in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Cazenovia
