nyshistoricnewspapers.org SULLIVAN COUNTY RECORD, Jeffersonville, New York April 23 1908 pg 1: John S Fredon, a resident of Roscoe for many years, died at his home there April 13, aged 86 years.
A few days before his death he fell on the kitchen floor and broke his hip, and his age was against recovery.
He leaves 3rd wife and 2 children, Edward and Mrs Ben Hornung.
His father settled on the James F Wood place at Round Pond 83 years ago.

nyshistoricnewspapers.org SULLIVAN COUNTY RECORD, Jeffersonville, NY Jun 28 1906 pg 1: The jury in the case of John S Feredon of Rockland against the O & W railroad company, tried in the Supreme Court at Monticello awarded Ferdon a verdict for $630, $500 of which was for damage to his land and $130 for damage to his crops caused by the overflowing of his lands when the company constructed its double track and filled in the Beaverkill river.
The company will appeal the case.
