Mr. John Dillard Maddox, 82, husband of the late Mrs. Stella White Maddox, resident of Milledgeville road, entered into rest at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31,1952, at a local convalescent home following an illness of five weeks. Funeral services for will be held at the Poteet Funeral home Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The Rev. L.F. Brewer will officiate. Interment will be in Harlem, Ga. cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Hubert D. Brown, Otto M. Mertins, Lloyd Mutimer, M.L. Cawley and J.J. Jenkins. A native of Rockdale county, Ga., Mr. Maddox had resided in Augusta for the past ten years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. F.J. Valentine of Jacksonville, Fla.; six sons, Walter E. Maddox of Augusta, J. Horace Maddox of Augusta, H. Guy Maddox of McDonough, Ga., John Patrick Maddox and Robert L. Maddox, both of Madison, Ga., and E.J. Maddox of Eatonton; one sister, Mrs. A.F. Walker of Conyers, and six grandchildren.
