Funeral services were largely attended this morning from the home at eleven o'clock for Mrs. E.M. Gunn, 81, widow of Byrdine Gunn, of near Shiloh, who died Tuesday night between 6 and 7 o'clock from complications after a lingering illness. The Rev. G.W. Phelps, of the Christian church, conducted the services, assisted by the Rev. Robert King, of the Presbyterian church, and James T.
Trolinger. Interment was in the Newbern cemetery. Pall-bearers were: Henry Lowman of Radford, Harry Rhodes, R.L. Walrond, Earl Owen, Garnett Harvey, Frank Lowman. Honorary pall-bearers: G.H. Miller, C.W. Owens, C.W. Miller, Jordan Morris, Collie Rhodes, W.P. Meadows, 0.P. Jordan, Jr, Dr. R.H. Woolling, Dr. H.R. Farley, W.M. Gott, D.S. Painter, Walter Wood, W.J. Caldwell, J.W. Hylton, C.E. Free, Joe Harris, W.C. Rudy, Frank Wysor, Milton Crowell, Elmer Crowell, S.W. Cecil, R.P. Worley, J.K. Warden, Grover Boothe, G.C. Hall, Robert Brown, R.P. Harris, John Draper, Dr. A.M. Smith and D.P. Kirby. Mrs. Gunn was born and lived all her life in the county. She was a devout member of the Christian church. Surviving are several children, Misses Ola, Cora and Lizzie Gunn, home; Mrs. A.R. Hill, Danville, C.B. Gunn, of the Mountain Trust company, Roanoke, and R.D. and R.C. Gunn, Pulaski County. Three sisters and two brothers also survive, Mrs. Sullie Waldren and Miss Ella Lowman, of Hollins, Mrs. F.S. Smith, Leesburg, H.B. Lowman, Bonham, and William Lowman of San Pedro, CA.
