BELLEVILLE - M. Pearl Bordell, 100, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of Allensville, died at 7:08 a.m. Saturday Jan. 4, 2003, at Valley View Haven.

Born Sept. 17, 1902, in Allensville, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Jeanette (Carson) King. Her husband, Fred C. Bordell died March 26, 1950.

Surviving are: four children, Mrs. Mildred Wenger, St. Thomas, Mrs. Harold (Phyllis) McCarl, Belleville, Fred C. Bordell, McConnellsburg, and Mrs. Foster (Arlene) Spivey, Allensville; a sister, Mrs. Sandra Bricker, South Mountain; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren; and a grandson, Richard Bordell whom she raised.

She was preceded in death by 8 sisters, 3 brothers, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was a tax collector in Menno Township for 20 years, 1950-70.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Allensville and the Lutheran Church Women.

Her memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Anna Ritter officiating. Interment will be in Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery.
