Albert C. Carr, a resident of Beloit and vicinity for more than sixty years, died at his home, 743 West Grand avenue, Thursday night following a period of failing health that resulted from an illness with influenza about five years ago. He was born in Berlin, New York state, on Nov. 27, 1853. When he was six years old his parents moved to this vicinity and settled on a farm west of Beloit.
He was a member of the first class of Beloit high school and after leaving school taught for a time and then engaged in farming until his retirement in 1902 when he moved to Beloit. He was married on Sept. 27, 1873, to Miss Mary E. Meech of Harlem, Ill. Surviving him are his widow and three sons, Louis B. and Vern M. Carr of Newark, and Clyde C. Carr of Los Angeles, Calif; eleven grandchildren; two brothers George L. Carr of Beloit and Charles E. Carr of Chicago; and a sister, Mrs. J.F. Chamberlain of Sutherland, Fla. also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home in West Grand aveune. Interment will be in the Rockton cemetery.
