Mildred "Lucille" Mennen age 90, formerly of Lafayette, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Mulberry Healthcare. Born June 12, 1918 in Tippecanoe County, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and L. Marie Strain Mennen. She was a private housekeeper for several Lafayette area families. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being with her family. Surviving are two sisters, Eleanor Wakeman of Union Mills and Thelma Guse (husband, Howard) of Wanatah; a sister-in-law, Nancy McCloud of Crawfordsville and 23 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Vanderkleed and Velma Redding and two brothers, Donald and Paul Mennen. Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., David Mennen and John Wakeman officiating. Burial to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
