Obituary for Dorothy (Dottie) Franklin:

Services for Dorothy (Dottie) Franklin, age 76, of Elmore, were at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 17, at the United Methodist Church in Elmore with Pastor Wesley Johnson officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Elmore.

Mrs. Franklin died on Sunday, October 13, at the United Hospital in Blue Earth. Visitation was held at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth.

Dorothy Elizabeth Butler was born April 8, 1920, in Nora, Ill., the daughter of Clayton and Mabel (Daws) Butler. She graduated from Warren, Illinois, High School and attended business college in Rockford, Ill. She was a proof reader for an insurance company. She married A. James Franklin on September 20, 1942. They moved to Little Rock, Ark., and later moved to a farm near Elmore in 1952.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women. She was a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Dorothy is survived by her husband A. James Franklin of Elmore; one son: Michael of Elmore; one daughter: Sheri Wheeler of Rochester; two grandchildren: Annette Brock and Anthony Wheeler; one sister: Eileen Delker of Apple River, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, and half-brother. (NOTE: We forgot to include aunt and uncle) Her obituary was in the Fairmont Sentinel and Rochester Post Bulletin, both in Minnesota.
