Funeral services for Agusta Lena Mae Birchfield, 77 of Route 1, Eureka Springs, AR were held Tuesday, December 13, 1977, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Eureka Springs with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Burial was in the Beulah Union Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson Funeral Service of Berryville, AR.
Mrs. Birchfield was born December 14, 1899 at Alabam, AR, a daughter of Daniel and Evaline (Scates) Glocksien and passed away Saturday, December 20, 1977 at the Rogers Memorial Hospital, Rogers, AR.
Mrs. Birchfield was united in marriage June 26, 1920 to William Newton (Bill) Birchfield, and to this union 10 children were born. Her husband and two sons preceded her in death.
Survivors included six sons, John D. Birchfield and Cecil Ray Birchfield, both of Eureka Springs, Melvin and Glenn Birchfield both of Roseburg, OR, Billy Edward Birchfield of Green River, UT, and Joe Birchfield of Oacoma, SD; two daughters, Mrs. Leoma Lintecum, of Rogers, AR and Mrs. Mary Ann Johnson, of Eureka Springs; one brother, Dan Glocksien of Berryville; six sisters, Mrs. Lydia Hinds and Mrs. Vada Calloway both of Cassville, MO, Mrs. Hazel Crellin and Mrs. Mary Stroud both of Wichita, KS, Mrs. Gladys Birchfield of Eureka Springs, and Mrs. Elsie David of Pea Ridge, AR; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Birchfield had professed her hope in Christ and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
