Jens K. Hyldahl, 74, of Mesa, Arizona, on Wednesday, Jan. 17th.

Mr. Hyldahl was born in Denmark on July 26, 1898, the son of Christian and Gertrude Hyldahl. He came to this country with his parents at an early age. They lived in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Kansas City and Racine, Wisconsin, before coming to Askov in 1918. He farmed with his parents for a few years and then worked for the Martin Johnson grocery before becoming Standard Oil Bulk Agent in Askov for 15 years. He moved to Mesa, AZ nine years ago.

He was a 50 year member of the DBS at Askov and was active in community activities and athletics in his younger years.

He is survived by his wife, Othelia, and one son, Arden, of Des Plaines, IL and by one sister, Mrs. Marian Oxley, Sioux City, Iowa. He is also survived by four grandchildren and by one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 22 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Askov at 2 p.m. with Rev. Victor Nelson officiating. Mrs. James Best was the soloist and Miss Cheryl Lund the organist. Casket bearers were: Roger Sorensen, Arild Hansen, William E. Jensen, Don Jensen, Byron Petersen and Dean Strandskov.

Burial was made in the Askov cemetery, Larson Funeral Home sandstone in charge of arrangements.
