Born Dec. 5, 1920, he was the son of the late Nearmon E. Sr. and Tersa Pearl Byrd Barrett. He was the husband of Inez "Rosalie" Nash Barrett.
He was employed by MD Specialty Wire as an inspector prior to retirement. He had served in the Coast Guard and was a veteran of World War II.
He attended Frizzellburg Bible Church and enjoyed camping and gardening.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Joseph W. Barrett, of New Windsor; a sister, Hazel Wirt, of Sparks Glencoe; a grandchild, Nearmon E. Barrett IV and wife Cherie; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Nearmon E. Barrett III; and brothers Milton and William L. Barrett.
