Otis Robbins was born in Lee County, Va., on Oct. 18, 1911 and passed away in Pennington Gap on Tuesday (Aug. 9, 2005) at the age of 93 years. otis was a coal miner, a veteran of World War 11, and a member of Robbins Chapel Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Palmer Robbins; mother mary Jane Holmes Robbins; and a step-father, Tennessee Robbins; four sisters, Melvie Robbins, Hestel Witt, Glades Robbins and Batrica Robbins; five brothers, Palmer Robbins Jr., Everett Robbins, Lester Robbins, Paris Robbins and Junior C. Robbins. Otis is survived by his sister, Pauline Smith and husband, Forrest of Maryville, Tenn., and Barbara Ann Clarson and husband, Jimmy of Ellenton, Fla.; brother, John M. Robbins of Mattews, Va., best friends in the world, Lela Dennison and children. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Va. services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Sanctuary of the Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Corbin officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Robbins Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 12:p.m. to go to the cemetery.
