He was born July 2, 1933, at Bloomington, son of Howard and Mary E. Deal Alvis. He married Joyce Irene Nelson on Sept. 5, 1953, at Bloomington. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his father; an infant brother, David; a sister, Esther Freeman; and a brother-in-law, Jim Thomas.
Wayne was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Bloomington, and a former Teamster member. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a truck driver for 42 years and most recently was a courier for National City Bank.
