Mrs. Spencer passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009. Bessie was born on March 8, 1918 in Ridgeway, TX the daughter of David M. and Lillie Stewart Finley. She married Haskell Spencer on March 7, 1942 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1990. Mrs. Spencer was a graduate of East Texas Teacher College and taught school a few years in Brannom, Texas. Mrs. Spencer was a homemaker who worked with her husband on the dairy farm. Mrs. Spencer enjoyed the outdoors, sports and never missed a game that involved her children and grandchildren who she loved very much. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center where everyone was like family to her. Mrs. Spencer was a member of the Shannon Oaks Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Spencer and wife Tonda and Alan Spencer and wife Jan all of Sulphur Springs, one daughter, Cathy Ramsey and husband Ron of Houston, TX, grandchildren, Steven Spencer, Chris Spencer and wife Lisa, Lex Spencer and wife Philippa, Jobi and Jayden Spencer, Ron-Alyse Cammerer and husband Chip, great-grandchildren, Dylan Lowery, Kamri and Kylie Spencer, Morgan and Christyn Spencer, Chrichton Spencer, Ramsey and Carsyn Cammerer, step-great grandchildren, Shawn and Kevin Tutt, numerous nieces and nephews and a special caregiver for the last eight years, Debbie Shockey. In addition to the loss of her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fred Finley and David E. Finley, two sisters, Mary Chapin and Susie Boyd and one grandson, Janson Spencer.
