OBITUARY --
SOUTHAVEN - Bessie Williams Deaton, 92, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at her home. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Whitehaven Baptist Church in Memphis and a former member of the Iuka Gospel Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. Bob Purvis officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Leroy Deaton of Walls and James Kenneth Deaton of Southaven; three daughters, Pearl Hamm of Southaven, Nancy Sandifer of Denham Springs, La., and Barbara Jackson of Olive Branch; a brother, T.O. (White) Williams of Iuka; a sister, Drammer Russell of Iuka; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Deaton; a son, Harold Deaton; and a grandson, Michael Jackson.
