Wilfred A. Young was the son of George Waldo Young and Harriet Chagnon Daniels Young. He was the youngest of six children born either in Spencer or East Brookfield, MA, or New Brittain, CT. He and his wife Rose Lena White were married in 1921. Mr. Young was a house painter by trade.

In the late 1940s the Youngs moved to San Lorenzo, CA. Some time later they moved to Pioneer, where Wilfred lived for twenty-five years. He was an active member at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Volcano and at Our Lady of the Pines in Buckhorn.

At the time of his death he was survived by a son, Bernard of Pioneer; daughters, Laurel Ellery of Hayward, Corrine Ball of Riverdale, NJ, and Judith Young of Pittsburgh; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. They also had a son Robert J Young, born in 1933.
