Johan (John) Alfred Winge attended military band school in Norway in 1875. He came to New York (date not known). He was an accomplished musician and played many instruments such as violin, viola, base, cello, trombone and tuba. John was also an excellent violin maker. John played in John Phillip Sousas Band in theatres and parades in New York City. In Seattle John played in the Philharmonic Orchestra under Spargue. John also played base in the Coliseum Theatre in Seattle, WA. The Coliseum Theatre is located on 5th Avenue and Pike Street. Johns remains are in the Mount Pleasant Cemetary in Seattle, WA. The site is in the NE corner of the Cemetary B395 Section B
