Olive LaVerne Atchley 86, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 28, 2009. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis until her retirement in 1985. She will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harrell Atchley, her parents, John Mason Campbell and Olive Lillian Campbell, four brothers, and one sister. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Thurmond-Smith and her husband, O.W. Smith; two grandsons, Daniel Angus and Jeremy Angus and his wife, Melissa; and a granddaughter, Natalie Thurmond, all from Memphis, TN. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, at the Germantown Parkway Chapel, 3700 N. Germantown Road. A graveside service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at Memory Hill Gardens.
