A member of Emmaus Baptist Church, North, he was instrumental in organizing the Mathews branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and for a number of years served as its President.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pauline Parrish of North, a daughter, Mrs. Edna Lane of Hartford, Conn, two sons, Daniel and Thomas Parrish, both of Hartford, a step-daughter, Mrs. Boydie Patterson of New York, NY, three step-sons, Howard Cooke of New York and Charles and Fred Cooke, both of Chester, PA, one brother, Frank Parrish of Roxboro, Mass.
A funeral service was held Friday, July 26 in Emmaus Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Alfred Grevious of New York City.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
