CARTER, Shawn Daniel was born on December 21, 1977, at the Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Shawn was the first born child of Ronald and Vicky Lynn Carter and grew up in Palmdale California, attending Palmdale local elementary schools and the Palmdale and Antelope Valley Christian High School. He went home to be with the Lord and his Mom on May 16, 2009. Shawn loved sports and was very active in the Palmdale Little League, playing just about every position, but loving to pitch and working as a volunteer umpire. He was chosen for many All Star Teams during his twelve years in the league. He continued in baseball with the A.V. Christian "Eagles", adding some impressive hitting stats to his record. He loved to swim, play golf, hockey, snow- boarding, fishing and umpiring. He even became a "Bat- Boy" with the Lancaster "Jet
Hawks". Shawn briefly attended the Palmdale First Baptist Church along with his family. He enjoyed several retreats to Hume Lake and continued his growing process at the A.V. Christian High School. Shawn enjoyed his work as a Merchandiser, working out of Arizona and then Houston Texas, where, after seven years with the same company, had realized a dream to train to become a deep-sea diver. His death was unexpected and was the result of a tragic motorcycle accident. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Conrad, his mother Vicky Lynn and his aunt Karen Angela. He leaves behind his father Ronald, step-mother Kathleen, sister Kristin, grandmothers Helen and Alice, his three nieces; Jasmine, Ashlee and Catarina, along with his extended family, Mike, Joy and Gary, including many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Shawn will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Shawn's name, be made to the Palmdale Little League, 37716 55th Street E, Palmdale, CA, 93552. A visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2009, Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2009, both at the Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Highway, Newhall, Calif. Chapel of the Hills. A Private Burial will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Palmdale. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, Newhall.
