Andrew George Endsley, Sr. born about 1828 in Georgia, possibly DeKalb County. He married February 3, 1850 to Mary Ann Moore in Coweta County, Georgia. They had six children together: Caleb Edward, James Whit, Andrew George, Rebecca, Mary E. and Dorothy Susan. The children were born and raised in Campbell County, Georgia.

Andrew joined the Confederate Army as a Private on December 2, 1862. He was captured at Marietta, Georgia on July 9, 1864. He died on October 13, 1864 of smallpox at Camp Douglas, Illinois. He was later removed to Lincoln Park Cemetery and finally in 1869 was placed in Oak Woods Cemetery at 71st and Cottage Grove. A brother, Pleasant W. Endsley also died there.

Andrew's parents were John Bluford Endsley and Ellender Miller.
