Ada L. Appleby of Osceola died suddenly Sept. 7, 2008, at Osceola Medical Center. She was 80.

Ada was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Osceola Township to Charles and Grace Leske. She attended school through the eighth grade. Grace worked as a cook at the Four Inns Restaurant in St. Paul and retired as a seamstress from White Bear Drapery.

On March 12, 1976, she married Don Appleby at Watertown, S.D. Ada was very active in the Osceola United Methodist Church and all church activities, enjoyed Seniors on the Go, volunteered her sewing and other skills at the L.O. Simenstad NCU, and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.

Ada is survived by daughter Grace (Tom) Morton, James (Deborah) McKellepp both of Hugo, sisters Marie (Chuck) Irrgang of Stillwater, Rhoda (Wayne) Gore of Phoenix, 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Sept. 12 at Osceola United Methodist Church. Visitation Sept. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral Home, Osceola.

Interment Pleasant Prairie Cemetery.
